A wedding video in Iran made many people angry. It shows the daughter and wife of Ali Shamkhani, a top Iranian leader, wearing Western clothes and no hijabs.

This upset Iranians because women in Iran must wear hijabs or face punishment. People called Shamkhani a hypocrite because he tells others to follow Islamic rules, but his family doesn’t do it. He was also in power when Mahsa Amini died after the police arrested her for not wearing a hijab correctly. Many people protested, but the police were very harsh.

Now, people say the rich and powerful in Iran have one rule and other people have another.

Difficult words: hijab (a headscarf that many Muslim women wear to cover their hair in public), punishment (something bad that happens to someone because they broke a rule or law), hypocrite (a person who says one thing but does another).
