Nancy Pelosi, a famous American politician, said she will retire from Congress. She was the first woman to be Speaker of the House of Representatives.

In her message, she spoke with love about San Francisco, her home city, and called it a place of beauty and creativity. She said she is proud of helping people get better healthcare and supporting clean energy. Pelosi thanked her voters for their trust and said it was an honor to speak for them in Washington. She also asked people to stay active in democracy and to protect freedom and peace. She said San Francisco must continue to be a strong example for others in the future.
