New rules for Ukrainian men in Europe – level 1

The European Union has a big new plan for refugees from Ukraine. The EU wants to help these families and protect them until March 2028.
But there is a new rule for men between 23 and 60 years old. If these men must be soldiers in Ukraine, the EU will not give them new protection documents. Ukraine needs more soldiers, so leaders agree with this change. Men who already live in the EU with protection are safe. They can stay. Many EU countries must now vote on this plan. Denmark is also doing the same thing.
Difficult words: refugee (a person who must run away from their home country because it is not safe there), protect (to keep safe), protection (when somebody stays away from a dangerous situation).
