A fake video circulating on social media fraudulently used Euronews branding to claim that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s parents are under corruption investigation.

The video falsely claimed that Ukraine’s Anti-Corruption Bureau discovered millions of dollars in their bank account and that they were briefly arrested. However, fact-checkers confirmed that Euronews never produced this report, and pointed out that the narrator’s voice was generated by AI.

Ukraine’s officials identified the video as part of a Russian disinformation campaign that creates fake news using respected media logos to discredit Ukraine on the international stage and reduce support from foreign allies during the ongoing war. Experts noted that there have been similar deepfakes and fabricated stories targeting Zelenskyy and his family in the past.
