Indonesia has a big trash problem. Many landfills are now full. Near the city of Jakarta, a mountain of trash is as tall as a big building. This place is not safe at all.

In March, falling trash kills seven workers. Now, the government wants to stop open dumping. They plan to make landfills safer and sort trash better. Many poor people work at the trash site every day. They sell old things from the trash to make money. These workers are afraid to lose their jobs.

The government says it will make new and safe jobs for them in the future.

Difficult words: trash (what people throw away), landfill (a place where people put trash in the ground or make mountains of trash), open dumping (leaving trash in open fields without any controls).
