Nuclear power plants do not have enough water – level 1
20-08-2026 07:00
Hot weather and low rainfall cause big problems in Europe. Danube is the biggest river in Romania. It has very low water levels now. Romania must stop its nuclear power plant. The plant needs water to cool down.
In Hungary, people use a lot of electricity for air conditioning during hot summer days. Luckily, solar power helps make electricity when the sun shines. But it is still hard to get power at night. Experts say that people are using more energy for cars, data centers, and cooling. Countries must plan better to protect their water and power for the future.
Difficult words: nuclear power plant (a factory which breaks atoms to make energy), air conditioning (a system which makes a room or house cold on a hot day), future (the time after now).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why must Romania stop its nuclear power plant?
