Making textile color without chemicals – level 1
31-08-2026 07:00
Making clothes uses many bad chemicals. They hurt our oceans and rivers. Companies are looking for better ways which do not hurt nature.
A new company makes clean colors for clothes with the help of bacteria. They grow the colors in big tanks, similar to making beer. This green method uses much less water, energy, and electricity than old methods. The new colors are safe for human skin and do not wash away easily in water. Big clothing brands are starting to buy these natural dyes today. The company wants to stop using toxic chemicals because nature can make every bright color safely.
Difficult words: tank (a large container for holding liquids or gases), brand (a company that makes products with a specific name and design), dye (a substance which changes the colour of clothes, hair, or other materials).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How does the new company's green method use bacteria to make clean colors, and what advantages does it have over old dyeing methods?
