Yemen war – level 2

Fighting in Yemen is getting worse as Houthi forces attack Saudi-backed government troops in the Al Jawf area. Houthi media showed videos of destroyed military trucks, rockets, and heavy fighting in the desert.
The Houthis say they killed many enemy soldiers and destroyed their weapons during several days of conflict. At the same time, the Saudi-backed government released air force pictures showing strikes against Houthi fighters and equipment to stop their advance.
Because of the heavy fighting and air attacks, many families escaped their homes. People walked at night without food or water while bullets flew around them. Many displaced families now live in simple tents in camps near Aden, and hope the dangerous conflict will stop soon.
Difficult words: enemy (a person, group, or country that fights against you), advance (moving forward toward a destination or goal), displaced (when someone must leave home because of war or a dangerous situation).
