Emanuel Macron is the French president. He visits a high school in southeast France last week.

He speaks to people after the visit. He is standing behind a barrier. A bodyguard is next to him. Then, something shocking happens. A man hits Macron in his face.

Macron turns his face away. It looks like the man does not hit him. He does. Macron’s bodyguard is too slow. He does not stop the man.

Police arrest two men. The first man is the one who hits Macron. The second man is the one who makes a video of it.

Difficult words: barrier (a fence or wall which stops people from going somewhere), bodyguard (a person whose job is to keep someone safe, usually a famous or important person), shocking (something bad or unusual that nobody expects).
