Artemis II – level 1

22-01-2026 07:00

NASA moves the Artemis II rocket to the launch place in Florida. The rocket goes very slowly. It takes many hours to travel only four miles.

This mission sends people to the Moon after many years. The last time Apollo missions to the Moon take place in the 1960s and 70s. In Artemis II, people will travel inside a space capsule on top of the rocket. They will fly around the Moon and then come back to Earth after ten days. They will not land on the Moon.

NASA plans the launch for February. This trip will help NASA get ready for future Moon trips. It also helps people plan longer trips in space one day.

Difficult words: launch (to send into space), capsule (a small space ship), land (to come down and stop on the ground).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

How many days will the Artemis II crew spend flying around the Moon before returning to Earth?
