Baby is born after a womb transplant – level 1

Grace Davidson cannot have a baby. She has no womb. A womb is an organ where the baby grows. A woman cannot have a baby when she has no womb.
Grace’s sister Amy gives Grace her womb. She already has two children. She does not want more children. She wants to help her sister. In 2023, doctors do an operation. They transplant Amy’s womb and give it to Grace. After some time, Grace has a baby. She calls the baby her sister’s name.
Grace feels very sad before. She wants a baby. Now she feels happy. The baby makes her smile. She is happy to be a mother. The baby’s father is happy, too. He loves the baby. He loves what Grace’s sister does for them. They are a happy family now.
Difficult words: operation (when doctors fix or change something in the body), transplant (to put an organ into another person).
