Bhutan is building a new city – level 1
11-03-2025 07:00
Bhutan is building a new city near India. The government wants to help the economy. Skilled people are leaving Bhutan. The government wants people to stay.
The city is called Galu Mindfulness City (GMC). It will be clean, safe, and modern. Only some companies can invest in it.
The government is making roads better. India is helping by building a train line to Bhutan. The city will use water power for electricity. It will take 21 years to finish. People hope it will bring jobs, better roads, and more money. Bhutan wants to grow but keep its culture.
Difficult words: economy (money and business of a country), skilled (good at something), invest (to give money to a business).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How will the new city’s clean, safe, and modern design—along with improvements in roads and a water-powered train line—help the government address the outflow of skilled workers and support economic growth while preserving culture?
