Bomb in Somalia – level 1

23-10-2017 07:00

Mogadishu is Somalia’s capital. A terrorist attack happens there. A truck explodes in front of a hotel. The explosion kills more than 230 people. It injures hundreds more. This is the deadliest attack in Somalia’s history.

People blame al-Shabab. This is an extremist group. It is linked to al-Qaida. Al-Shabab says nothing about the attack.

Difficult words: blame (say that somebody did something bad), linked (connected, ‘friends with’).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
