Change in YouTube – level 1

YouTube knows what videos you watch. It puts up videos which it thinks you want to watch. No people do this. Software does this.

YouTube wants to change this software. It wants to put up fewer videos of one type. People call them conspiracy theory videos. YouTube says that these videos show false information.

What are these videos about? They can be about fake medicine. They can be about Flat Earth. They can be about events like 9/11 (the attacks on the World Trade Centre on September 11th 2011).

Some people do not like this. They think that this is censorship.

Difficult words: conspiracy theory (an explanation of things which is different from the explanation that most people believe; or saying something which is not true), fake medicine (medicine which does not help you), censorship (censoring – stopping what people can watch, write, read, or say).
