Concert tickets cost too much – level 1
21-04-2026 15:00
Do you like concerts? Many people are sad and angry. Tickets cost too much money.
Now, a court in the USA says that a big company called Live Nation is breaking the law. Live Nation owns Ticketmaster. These companies are too big. They are a monopoly. It means that there are no other companies on the market. Because they are the only big company, they can make tickets very expensive.
The court wants to break the company into two parts. This will help other small companies sell tickets too. If there are more companies, tickets may be cheaper. It is good news for music lovers.
Difficult words: ticket (a piece of paper which you need to get to a concert), market (the world of buying and selling), expensive (when something costs a lot of money).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How could breaking Live Nation into two parts help other companies sell tickets and potentially lower prices?
