David Attenborough speaks to world leaders – level 1

10-11-2021 15:00

David Attenborough is a British naturalist. A naturalist studies plants and animals. He makes many films about nature. He is 95 years old.

COP26 is a climate summit. Climate is the weather in many places. A summit is a big meeting. The climate summit happens in Scotland right now. World leaders speak about climate change.

Attenborough speaks to the leaders. He says that they must do something quickly. There is too much carbon dioxide in the earth’s atmosphere. The planet is getting warmer. The weather is changing. Many countries have big problems.

Attenborough says that politicians must think about young people and not money. Now, they have a big chance to do something good. They must work together. They must make the world a better place to live.

Difficult words: climate change (the situation when the world is getting warmer, and it brings many problems), carbon dioxide (a gas which factories and cars make), atmosphere (the gas around our planet).
