Dog café in LA – level 2

16-11-2023 15:00

People in Los Angeles, California, can have a cup of coffee and play with dogs at the same time at a dog café. Every dog in the café came from a shelter and is available for adoption.

The owner wants to decrease the number of dogs that are euthanised in Los Angeles shelters. She also hopes that there are going to be more cafés like this one, so more dogs will not die.

Many people like the idea, so the café can be quite expensive. To get one cup of coffee and 55 minutes with the dogs costs 10 dollars.

Difficult words: shelter (a place where people put homeless dogs), decrease (to make lower), euthanise (to kill).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What other ways could the owner of the dog café decrease the number of euthanised dogs in Los Angeles shelters?
