Giant squid in Japan – level 2

05-01-2016 15:00

In Japan, people spotted a young giant squid in a bay on Christmas Eve. Giant squids normally live in the deep sea, but this one came to the bay and divers swam with him.

The giant squid was young as he was only 3.7 metres long – giant squids can be huge and grow up to 18 metres long. People said that he was the first giant squid of this season.

Difficult words: spot (to see quickly), huge (very big).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.

What would you do if you saw a giant squid?
