She is the first Asian woman who wins. She is the second woman in history. Barbra Streisand wins the Golden Globe for the best director in 1984.

Zhao makes a film called ’Nomadland’. It is about a woman. The woman travels around America. She is a nomad. Some parts of the film come from something that really happens.

Many Asian people are happy. They say that Zhao is very talented. Some people in the US do not like Asians who live there. Zhao can help change the situation.
