Humans come from stars – level 1

01-05-2025 07:00

Stars come from big, cold clouds of gas and dust. The clouds are very big and heavy.

Small parts come together and make a baby star. This baby star is called a protostar. The star gets hot inside. It starts a special process called fusion. This makes the star shine and live for a long time. Small stars live longer than big stars.

When a star uses all its fuel, it changes. Big stars explode. They send their material into space. This material makes planets and even people. Our bodies have things like carbon and oxygen.  A famous scientist, Carl Sagan, says that we come from stars. The stars are part of us. We are all part of the universe.

Difficult words: dust (very small pieces of rock and metal), fuel (something what gives energy), explode (to break apart fast and loudly).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What name is given to a baby star that forms when small parts of a cloud come together?
