Hungary and Slovakia do not send fuel to Ukraine – level 1
25-02-2026 07:00
Hungary and Slovakia do not send diesel to Ukraine now. The oil pipe is broken because of a Russian attack.
Both countries say that Ukraine does not fix the pipe. They keep diesel for their own people. Slovakia uses oil from storage to help people. Hungary and Slovakia want to move Russian oil through Croatia, but Croatia says no. The European Commission says both countries have enough oil.
Ukraine has big problems with energy. Russian attacks break its systems. Stopping diesel makes it harder for people there.
Difficult words: diesel (fuel which people use in cars, trucks, or machines), pipe (a tube which carries water, gas, or oil from one place to another), storage (a place where you keep things).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What reason do both countries give for keeping diesel for their own people?
