Internet archive – level 1

07-05-2025 07:00

The Internet Archive is in San Francisco. It saves websites from the past. You can use it to see old websites. It is like a time machine. The Internet Archive also saves books, music, and videos. Later, they put these in digital files.

One woman, Jessica, cannot find her videos. The US government takes them off the website. Jessica is sad. But she finds them again on the Internet Archive. She is happy that she can still see and share them.

Some people are worried. Many websites from the US government are now gone. But the Archive saves them. People can still look at them when they use the Wayback Machine.

Difficult words: archive (a place where people keep old things), time machine (a machine which takes you back in time), gone (away, lost).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Where did Jessica find her videos after the US government removed them from the website?
