Is the internet dead? – level 2

09-10-2026 07:00

Many people worry that the internet is dying because AI is creating too much text and too many images. Today, automated bots make up more than 60% of web activity, and many new websites use AI to write articles.

This problem is called the dead internet theory. Tech companies know this is dangerous because AI tools copy work from real human writers. When people read quick AI summaries, they don’t click on the original websites, so human writers lose money and close their businesses.

In the future, AI will train on bad AI-generated content, spread mistakes, false news, and wrong health advice. To stay safe, readers should always check who wrote an article, look at real source websites, and support human journalists.

Difficult words: automated (done by machines or computers instead of people), human (about real people), AI-generated (created by AI).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What is the dead internet theory, how can AI-generated content harm human writers, and what steps should readers take to stay safe and support human journalists?
