James Van Der Beek, the star of the TV show Dawson’s Creek, died at 48 after a cancer diagnosis.
His wife shared the news online and said he showed courage and faith in his last days. Many fans and actors wrote kind messages and spoke about his influence on their lives.
People started a GoFundMe page to raise money for his wife and six children. The page collected more than 200,000 dollars in less than one hour. In 2024, he told fans about his cancer after doctors found it during a checkup. He said he wanted to work on his health and get treatment.
He became famous as Dawson Leery in the 1990s. Later, he acted in many movies and TV shows.
