In the past, Shinzo Abe is the Prime Minister of Japan. He is the minister for the longest time in Japan’s history. In 2020, Abe ends in his job. He has health problems. He is 67 years old.

Abe continues to work in government. Last Friday, he is in the city of Nara. He is speaking in front of many people on a street.

A man shoots Abe. Abe falls to the ground. He is hurt but alive. A helicopter takes him to hospital. Abe dies there.

Police arrest a 41-year-old man. This man says that he hates Abe. He wants to kill him. The event is a shock for people in Japan. It has strong rules about guns.

Difficult words: Prime Minister (the leader of a government), alive (not dead), shock (something that nobody expects).
