Meta is a big company. It has Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Now, Meta has a big problem in court.
A jury says that the apps are not safe for children. Meta must pay a lot of money—375 million dollars. The leaders in New Mexico are happy with this news. They want to keep children safe. They say that Meta wants only money. But childrens’ health is more important.
Meta says that it is not true. Meta wants to talk to the judge again. In May, the court will look at the apps again. Everyone wants the internet to be a safe place for young people.
Difficult words: court (an official place where people listen to facts and say if someone breaks a rule), jury (a group of people who listen in court and decide if someone does something bad or not), health (how your body and mind feel).
