30-06-2022 15:00

On Saturday, an attack happens in Oslo, Norway. A man kills two people in a gay bar. He hurts 21 people. The man takes a gun from his bag. He shoots people. Police and other people stop the man in a few minutes.

The attacker is Norwegian. He comes from Iran. He is 42 years old.

Authorities know him since 2015. They think that he has dangerous Islamist ideas. Police talk to the man in May 2022. They don’t think that he is dangerous.

The attack happens hours before the Pride Parade. This event celebrates LGBTQ people. Organizers cancel the event. They are afraid that another attack can happen.

Difficult words: Islamist (a person who strongly believes in the Islamic religion), LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer people), cancel (to stop an event).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
