South Korea’s ex-president is in trouble – level 1
28-04-2025 15:00
Moon Jae-in is a past president of South Korea. He is in trouble.
People say he helps his family get a job and money. He helps his daughter’s husband get a job in Thailand. They say he gives a job to someone in the government in return.
This is called bribery. The police are looking at this. Other past presidents also have big problems like this. Moon is president from 2017 to 2022. He does not say anything about this now. A friend says the story is not true. He says it is about politics.
There will be a new vote on June 3. A man from Moon’s party wants to win. He says Moon does nothing wrong.
Difficult words: in return (when you do or give something to someone because they do something for you first), bribery (giving money or things to get something).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What does a friend of Moon Jae-in say about the bribery story?
