Wingsuit competition – level 2

04-11-2015 07:00

The second year of “The Red Bull Aces” wingsuit competition happened. At this competition, 40 competitors flew 2.3 kilometres above ground level. With speeds of up to 257 kilometres per hour, this sport wasn’t for everyone.

Competitors had to weave through a slalom course of 34-metre-tall pylons which hung from helicopters.

An American competitor defended his title from last year’s competition.

Difficult words: competitor (a person who is taking part in a competition), weave (to move through), slalom course (a way with many bends which you must go through), pylon (a tall, skinny object which supports things or shows you a way).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
