Zelenskyy and Trump meet – level 1

On February 28, 2025, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy meets US President Donald Trump. They talk about a deal for minerals from Ukraine.
But the meeting is bad. Zelenskyy tells Trump not to trust Russian President Vladimir Putin. He says that Russia does not keep promises. Trump’s Vice President JD Vance gets angry. Trump stops the meeting.
Later, Trump says that he will think about helping Ukraine. Some leaders from Europe say they will help Ukraine. The French and German leaders say that Ukraine needs help. Even though the meeting does not go well, Zelenskyy wants to be friends with the US again.
Difficult words: trust (to believe someone), promise (to tell someone that you will certainly do something).
