Sanae Takaichi is a woman in politics in Japan. She is the new leader of her party. She can be the first woman prime minister in Japan.

She works in politics and has many years of experience. Many people know her. She wants to make her party strong again. Some people are not happy because things are very expensive in Japan. Some people do not like her ideas about family and women. Other countries also look at her because she talks about war and Japan’s history. Many people wait to see what she will do.

Difficult words: prime minister (the leader of a government), experience (when you know how to do something because you do it for a long time), expensive (when something costs a lot of money).
