Deloitte uses AI to write a report – level 2

13-10-2025 15:00

The consulting company Deloitte made a report for the Australian government using AI. The report cost 440,000 dollars, but it had big mistakes. The computer wrote fake names and wrong quotes from judges.

AI sometimes makes up information when it doesn’t know the answer. Later, a teacher found these mistakes and told the media about them. Deloitte changed some parts of the report and gave some money back to the government. The company and the department felt embarrassed.

Many people in offices now use AI, but not everyone tells their boss. This story shows that people must check AI work carefully. AI can help, but it can also make big errors if people don’t watch what it does.

Difficult words: consulting company (a business that gives expert advice to other businesses or the government), quote (the exact words that someone said or wrote), embarrassed (feeling bad or shy because of a mistake or something awkward).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Who found the AI-generated report’s mistakes and informed the media about them?
