How the West can deal with China and Russia – level 2
01-07-2026 07:00
The United States and its allies need a better plan to handle global politics and China’s growth. Experts suggest using three new groups to manage different parts of the world.
One group will work with sea powers like Japan to control important paths in the ocean. Another group will focus on areas like the Middle East, where land and sea powers meet, by building big trade roads to connect countries. At the same time, governments in Europe and Asia are making long-term plans to stop China and Russia from becoming too strong on land.
Finally, the American military recently renamed its Pacific Command. They now see that India’s high mountains separate it from China, so India is actually less important to China’s trade plans than Central Asia.
Difficult words: ally (a country or a person that helps and supports you because you have the same goals or a special agreement), path (a track, route, or way which allows you to move from one place to another), long-term (happening, continuing, or planned for a long period of time in the future, not just for today or tomorrow).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Which geographic feature separates India from China and makes India less important to China's trade plans than Central Asia?
