Thousands of Maroccans come to Ceuta – level 1
04-08-2026 07:00
Spain sends soldiers to Ceuta in North Africa. Ceuta is a Spanish enclave. Thousands of people cross the border from Morocco. They swim in the water or climb big fences. It happens in a very short time.
Local leaders say that it is a big emergency. Some people die in the sea. Spanish soldiers come quickly. They control the border and stop problems.
Soon, most of the 50,000 people decide to go back home to Morocco. They are very tired. They have no food. They know that they can not stay in Spain.
Difficult words: enclave (a piece of land or territory that belongs to one country but is inside another country), fence (a high structure which divides two areas of land), emergency (a dangerous situation which needs quick action and help).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
Why did most of the 50,000 people decide to go back home to Morocco?
