Humanoid Robot Competition

A big robot event starts in Beijing, China. Robots are competing in running, boxing, jumping, and playing tennis for five days. One robot runs a 100-meter race faster than Usain Bolt.

Most of the teams come from Chinese companies. China wants to show new technology to the world. Many children and adults watch the robots dance, fight, and fall. But most companies want to find new investors.

These robots cost a lot of money and cannot do real work at home yet. Experts say that companies must build useful robots which people can buy for daily life.

Difficult words: compete (to try to be better than someone else), race (an event to see who is the fastest), investor (a person or company that gives money to a business to help it grow and make more money later).
