Indonesia’s Vice President has problems with school papers – level 1

12-10-2026 15:00

A top court in Indonesia decides about the vice president, Gibran. Some people want him to leave his job. They say that he does not have the right school paper from a foreign school.

In Indonesia, top leaders must finish high school. All judges on the court stop the case. They say that the people who start the case are not part of the 2024 election. Also, Gibran is already in his job.

But the judges also say that no one shows a real school paper on the court day. Gibran keeps his job as vice president for now. It is possible that he may have more problems with his papers later.

Difficult words: vice president (the politician below the president), foreign (from another country), case (a legal problem in a court).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Why did the judges stop the case, and what did they say about Gibran's school papers?
