A big sinkhole in Indonesia – level 1
20-02-2026 15:00
A big sinkhole in Indonesia is getting larger. It is in Central Aceh.
The hole is now about three hectares big. It is hurting farm land. Farmers cannot grow food there. The ground keeps moving because of rain and past earthquakes. One farmer wants help from the government. She asks for money or new land. Another farmer sees the hole grow very fast. Experts say that the hole may grow more. People need to care about water in the area. The problem is serious for local farmers.
Difficult words: sinkhole (a big hole in the ground), hectare (about two football fields), earthquake (when the ground moves).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What does one farmer ask the government to provide in response to the expanding hole in Central Aceh?
