A judge says Blake Lively did nothing wrong – level 2
13-06-2025 15:00
A judge in the US stopped Justin Baldoni’s 400-million-dollar lawsuit against Blake Lively. Baldoni said Lively lied about him harassing her during filming. He also sued The New York Times, but the judge stopped that case, too.
The judge said Baldoni didn’t show enough facts to prove Lively and others tried to hurt his name. He can try a smaller case about a contract. Lively is still suing Baldoni, and their court trial will happen in 2026.
Lively’s lawyers said they were happy. They said Baldoni’s lawsuit was not honest. The Times said the judge showed that reporters can safely tell important news stories.
Difficult words: lawsuit (a legal case in court), harass (to treat someone badly again and again), prove (to show that something exists or is true).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
What did the judge say Baldoni failed to provide in his lawsuits against Lively and The New York Times?
