A lab in Spain can clone your pet – level 2
04-02-2025 15:00
In Spain, some people are paying 55,000 euros to clone their pets.
Christian Morales from Barcelona lost his dog, Lola. After she died, he saved her DNA so that he might bring her back in the future. Right now, he is not sure if he will clone her because it is too expensive. A lab in Spain is cloning dogs and cats. The cloned pet looks and behaves like the original, but experts say it will not have the same memories or feelings. Psychologists believe cloning doesn’t stop sadness after losing a pet.
Even though some people worry about cloning, many owners still want it. Christian pays 500 euros a year to keep Lola’s DNA and hopes he can see her again one day.
Difficult words: clone (to make an exact copy of a living thing), DNA (a molecule in your body which has genetic information in it), behave (to act in a certain way).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
