A man is stuck behind a waterfall for two days – level 1
21-08-2025 07:00
Ryan Wardwell, 46, goes to the Seven Teacups waterfalls in California on August 10th. He wants to go down the rocks with a rope. But the water is too strong. It pushes him behind a waterfall. He is stuck there for two days, wet and cold.
When he does not come back to his car, the police start looking for him. They use a drone and later find him. A big helicopter comes and lifts him out. Ryan is alive but very thirsty and tired. He has only small injuries. He is happy to meet his family again.
Police tell people to stay safe when they are near strong rivers.
Difficult words: rope (a thick line for climbing), stuck (not able to move or go anywhere), thirsty (when you need water, or want to drink).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How many days was he stuck behind the waterfall?
