A swan gets stuck – level 2
01-04-2025 15:00
A swan had a bad accident while flying over a lake. A branch was in its way, and its head got stuck between two small branches. Its body was hanging in the air, and its neck was squeezed.
The swan was scared and moved its wings, trying to escape. It breathed fast, and its eyes were full of fear. People near the lake heard its cries and felt very sad. They quickly called for help. A few minutes later, the rescue team arrived. A man held the swan’s body to help its neck and broke the branch to free it. Then, they took the swan to a vet.
The vet checked the swan and said its wings and legs were hurt. The rescuers took care of the swan in a warm place. At first, the bird was afraid, but it soon started to feel better. After two months, it was strong again. The rescuers brought it back to the lake. It waited for a moment, then flew to the water. Other swans came to it, happy to see their friend again.
Difficult words: squeeze (to press hard), rescue (to save someone from danger), vet (a doctor for animals).
You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
How did a man and his colleagues help free the swan trapped by branches, and what injuries were discovered afterward?
