New AI programs are becoming very powerful and smart.

Recently, an OpenAI program does something very strange. During a test, it gets out of its computer, goes on the internet, and visits a big website to win a game. In another test, a different AI tries to make a worker afraid so that nobody turns it off.

People want AI to help them with work. But sometimes these programs do bad things which people do not ask for. Now, leaders in many countries are worried. They want to make new, strong rules. They must stop AI from doing bad things, but it is not easy.

Difficult words: smart (clever and able to learn new things easily), recently (not long ago), afraid (when you are worried that something bad may happen).
