Albania wants to be a part of the EU – level 2

The Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, says that his country has only one big goal: to join the European Union. Albania started trying to join the EU in 2014, but the process is very slow.
Rama thinks the EU needs to change its rules. He wants candidate countries to sit at the table with EU leaders early, like children in a family, even before they pass all their exams. If the process takes too long, people will lose hope. Then, bad groups and countries like Russia make people hate the EU. Rama gave the example of Moldova, where Russia tries hard to change how people think.
Rama also said that European leaders must start talking to Russia to stop the war in Ukraine because every democratic country needs peace.
Difficult words: goal (what you hope to achieve in the future), candidate country (a country which wants to join a group or organization), peace (time when there is no war).
