Anti-Semitic Incident – level 1

21-02-2019 07:00

This news is from Paris. There are protests every weekend. This weekend is the 14th weekend of protests.

A group of people called ‘yellow vests’ protest. This weekend, some of them see a man. He is a 69-year-old Jewish philosopher. They shout anti-Semitic insults at him.

In the centre of Paris, thousands of people protest. The police stop them. The French president does not like this.

Difficult words: shout (say very strongly and with a lot of bad emotions), anti-Semitic (anti-Jewish), insult (saying something which makes the person feel very bad).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
