Baby sloth in London – level 2

05-08-2015 15:00

A young sloth’s mother at a zoo in London stopped producing milk. Zookeepers now feed the seven-week-old sloth with goat’s milk.

When he grows up, he will have 10-centimetre-long claws. That is why zookeepers named him Edward, after the famous film character Edward Scissorhands. The claws will let him move in the trees.

Sloths are active at night and are from South America.

Difficult words: sloth (the animal in the picture), claw (a long nail on an animal), character (a person in a film or a book).

You can read the original story and watch the video in the Level 3 section.
