China Hospitals – level 2

05-02-2020 15:00

The city of Wuhan, China, is building two hospitals that will help treat patients with the coronavirus. Workers at the building site are working 24 hours a day.

The city plans to open both hospitals in the first week of February, and one hospital has room for 1,600 beds.

Thousands of doctors and nurses moved to Wuhan to help fight the epidemic. They work constantly and help people who were in contact with the virus. China says the doctors cured five people who had the virus.

The World Health Organization declared a global emergency. It said that the coronavirus is an international problem and that it is dangerous for public health.

Difficult words: treat (to give medical care), epidemic (a sickness that reaches a lot of people very quickly), cure (to make someone healthy).
