Drones and planes in the sky – level 2

How can we make sure that drones and planes don’t crash into each other? At an airport in Denmark, experts are working on a new system to solve this problem.
Today, drones and airplanes usually cannot fly in the same area at the same time. But this special test center uses fast sensors and radar to see every aircraft in the sky. One company created a drone box which can find a drone and its pilot from 15 kilometers away.
Scientists from a local university also help by testing hundreds of different drones. Their goal is to make drone technology better for the future. The drone market is growing very fast, and it is important for transport and safety to have a smart system to control the sky.
Difficult words: sensor (a small electronic device which can detect light, heat, or movement), radar (a system which finds the position and speed of objects in the sky), safety (when you are safe from danger or harm).
