Drug Daraprim – level 2

07-12-2016 15:00

Daraprim is a life-saving anti-malarial drug. Its price recently went up from $13.50 to $750, which caused global outrage. However, its active ingredient can be produced for just 2 US dollars.

A group of Australian year-11 pupils and their teacher produced it. It wasn’t an easy process, and it required a lot hard work and time.

Difficult words: outrage (an extremely strong reaction of anger or shock), active ingredient (the most important ingredient/part of a drug).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.
