Flying private – level 1

22-05-2025 07:00

Private jets are very costly. One music star uses a jet 396 times in one year.

A short trip can cost a lot of money. Renting a jet costs between 7,500 and 17,000 dollars for one hour. Fuel, pilot, and fixing the plane also cost more. Private jets are bad for the air. They make more dirty air than big planes. Big planes take many people. A private jet takes only a few. This makes more dirty air for each person. Some rich people fly many times. They hurt the air more than many other people.

New fuel can help. It comes from old food oil and plants. It is better for the air. But this fuel is expensive. Rich people can use this fuel to help the planet.

Difficult words: costly (expensive), fuel (things like gas or oil which make machines work), fix (to make something work again when it is broken).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

Why do private jets generate more dirty air per person than large planes?
