Gen Z and money – level 1

06-10-2026 15:00

Many young people today cannot reach important life goals easily. Buying a house or starting a family costs too much money.

House prices and rent are very high. Job pay stays low. Social media also shows rich people who enjoy life. Young adults feel sad and confused about money. Experts say that young people today have less money than their parents.

Young people are learning how to use their money better. They ask for help. Many young people are also protesting to ask politicians for fair prices, better jobs, and a good future.

Difficult words: goal (something what you want to have or do in the future), rent (money which you pay to live in someone’s house or apartment), confused (when you cannot think clearly or understand something).

You can watch the original video in the Level 3 section.

What steps are young people taking to use their money better and to ask politicians for fair prices, better jobs, and a good future?
